14 in-lamb pedigree hoggets offered in McHugh’s Cheviot sale
The hoggets and four ewe lambs are being offered in a timed auction which runs until 2 March on the Marteye sales platform in conjunction with Ballybofey and Stranorlar Mart.
The in-lamb hoggets are lambing from 23 March to 10 April.

The pedigree Cheviot flocks run by Manus McHugh and Shane McHugh in Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, are offering a draft of in-lamb ewe hoggets and ewe lambs for sale via a timed auction running from 27 February to 2 March.
The offering includes 14 in-lamb ewe hoggets and four ewe lambs.
Many of the hoggets are bred from Benrafton Bullseye, a new outcross of the Cheviot breed, and a Glenbolt ram who the McHughs state is consistently producing good-bodied sheep with a clean head.

The hoggets, which are due to lamb from 23 March to 10 April, are in-lamb to the flock’s main stock rams, including Speenogue Case PG230545 – a five-star performance-recorded ram. All stock are also recorded via Sheep Ireland.
Hoggets have been vaccinated for enzootic abortion and toxoplasmosis and are also on a clostridial vaccine programme, having recently received their booster shot.
Sheep from the flock have consistently been among the prizewinning and top-priced Cheviots sold at the Donegal Cheviot and Cheviot-Cross Breeders sales in recent years.
