The sale will again include ewes with pedigrees containing some of the leading genetics within the Texel breed in both Ireland and the UK. Some of the top performing sheep at both shows and sales in the past year came from flocks which are exhibiting at this sale.

A high percentage of the sheep entered in the sale have been fully €uro-Star evaluated with Sheep Ireland, with some of the highest ranked females in the Country included in the sale.

All sheep shall have their € uro-Star evaluations displayed in the catalogue.

As well as this, a large selection of the females have €uro-Star evaluations that equal or exceed the threshold for the Sheep Improvement Scheme (SIS).

On top of this, all service sires are DNA verified so that all off-spring from the sale ewes can be sire-verified.

Charity lot

This year’s sale will include a charity lot kindly donated by Michael and John Donohoe of the Crosserlough Texel Flock.

A daughter of Drumderg Fancy Pants, this Texel ewe lamb is out of a Kilduff ewe by Mullan Escobar.

Aaron McPhillips of the North East Club said that all proceeds from the sale of the pedigree Texel ewe lamb will be donated to Virginia Cancer Care.

Ringside and online bidding will be available through LSL. Potential online buyers are asked to register with Carnaross Mart prior to the sale. According to the club, transport can be arranged for online buyers.

Pictures of the lots will be available on the club’s Facebook page at North East Irish Texel Club.
