A total of 80 new telehandlers were registered in July, meaning registrations are running 35% above the same month last year, according to the Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA).

The overall year-to-date figure is now at 377 units, an increase of 12.2% on last year’s figures for the same period.

Meanwhile, there were 26 used first-time registrations.

The wheel loader market recorded a 61% decrease in new registrations to 18 units in July 2022 compared with July 2021, while the year-to-date market increased by 2.7%. The FTMTA explained that the market dominance of Chinese-manufactured machines at the lower power end of the market for farmer use declined a little in July, and now accounts for 52% of new wheel loader registrations.

The backhoe loader market is up by eight new units in July, while the year-to-date market remains strong with 45 units registered, a 6.25% reduction compared with the same seven months of 2021.
