I see all the pieces of the jigsaw are falling into place on the eight-person dairy partnership known as Western Pastures in Co Roscommon.
The lease was signed by the group of farmers from the west on the 420ac farm in June last year, as revealed in these pages.
The Dealer understands that each farmer committed either €160,000 or €80,000, plus 80 heifers.
One of the partners tweeted this week that there are 360 heifers to calve on the farm this spring.
It included a photo of some impressive concrete work which is waiting for the rotary parlour to be installed.
With an Aurivo plant in Ballaghadereen, the milk won’t have too far to travel for processing.
