Forestry has gotten a bad reputation over the last number of years and that is something the new Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture with special responsibility for Forestry, Farm Safety and Horticulture Michael Healy-Rae wants to change.“Planting forestry, unfortunately, over the last number of years, has gotten a bad reputation. I want to turn that ship around. I want them to see that the Department is pro farmers, that they’re on their side. We want farmers to have a better deal,” he told the Irish Farmers Journal.
