Three of the 14 farmers against whom Liffey Meats had injunctions granted last week have consented to the High Court orders.

They have agreed to cease any blockading or intimidation at Liffey Meats plants.

In return, the meat company has agreed to not pursue them for legal costs or damages.

The injunction arose from picketing at Liffey’s Ballinasloe plant. The three farmers are Trevor Pearson, Michael Shannon and Paul Murphy. They were represented by the IFA’s legal team.

Interim injunction

Meanwhile, the interim injunction against the remaining 11 farmers remains in operation. However, the court on Tuesday put back the calling up of these farmers by a further three days, to Friday.

This was because Liffey Meats did not display the court orders at the gates of the Ballinasloe plant.
