Two directors of the Beef Plan Movement company limited by guarantee no longer hold those roles, according to documents filed with the companies office (CRO).

Eamon Corley, co-chair of the Beef Plan Movement, resigned as a director of the company on 14 August 2019, according to documents submitted to the CRO.

That was six days after five meat processors sent legal letters to seven Beef Plan representatives, including Corley.

At the time, Beef Plan protests had effectively shut down 22 meat plants across the country.

A second director, Declan Molloy, also resigned as director of the Beef Plan Movement company limited by guarantee 10 days ago.

The Mayo man had been the company secretary, but his role as secretary and director ceased from 13 August 2019.

Secretary

The secretary role is now held, since 13 August, by Hugh Doyle, the Beef Plan’s other co-chair.

Company records show that Doyle was first appointed as a director on 20 December 2018, when the company was formed.

However, records also show that Doyle resigned on 1 February 2019.

He was then reappointed on 13 August as both a director and the company secretary of the Beef Plan Movement.

The Irish Farmers Journal has contacted both Beef Plan co-chairs Eamon Corley and Hugh Doyle for comment.

Regional meetings

The Beef Plan Movement is to hold a series of regional committee meetings on Friday evening, at which two representatives from each county will give their views on the progress made at the talks.

The meetings will take place in Sligo, Westmeath, Cork, Waterford and Louth.
