There is an 18-unit Alfa Laval milking parlour with a 10,000l tank. There is also calf accommodation, silage pits, heifer rearing sheds and cubicle sheds. A farm roadway brings you straight out to paddocks and it runs from one end of the property to the other.
“This property is designed for a dairy purchaser. But at the same time, it is 187ac in one block with a house. The land is fit for any agricultural purpose,” said Stephen Barry of Raymond Potterton auctioneers, Navan. “It would work for tillage. This is the best of Meath land, clay ground. This farm has a deep drainage system. There was always streams and drains of up to 8ft running through it, but the current owners have kept it very well. The farm roadways are all maintained to a high standard. There’s a farm road servicing every inch of it.”
The property does not have a large amount of road frontage. The farmyard is out near the road and the residence is adjacent to the yard. It is a four bedroom house that has oil fired central heating and is described as being “in good condition”.
Stephen Barry said that the entitlements will be offered for sale separately. The dairy herd will be sold separately to the property. The guide price for this farm is €2m or €10,700/ac. Meath had the third-highest price for agricultural land in the country in 2019, averaging €12,764/ac according to the Irish Farmers Journal land price survey.
This property will be auctioned, but a date will not be set until social distancing restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted, the selling agents said.
