The total CAP budget proposed over the seven-year period from 2021 to 2027 is €365bn. Some of this has been allocated to the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and some to the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAGRD).
Pillar 1 (EAGF) will account for approximately €286bn, with Pillar 2 (EAFRD) accounting for approximately €79bn.
Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed gave the breakdown in the figures in response to a parliamentary question from Fianna Fáil agriculture spokesperson Charlie McConologue.
