1 Michael Harte: appointed as Chief Executive of Dairygold
Joining Dairygold in 1989, Michael is a fellow chartered management accountant who graduated from the University of Limerick with a degree in business studies. Since he was appointed chief financial officer (CFO) in 2006, Michael has been a critical member of Dairygold’s senior leadership team. His expertise and decision-making have contributed to the development and implementation of the company’s strategies during this period.
Speaking about his appointment, Michael says: “It is a huge honour for me to be appointed as Chief Executive of Dairygold, a strong, well-invested and globally competitive business. It is an exciting time to take on the role, as the industry faces opportunities and challenges, from which we must maximise the sustainable returns for all stakeholders.”
2 Cesar França: appointed Managing Director of Ornua Global Foods
Cesar França.
Originally from Brazil, Cesar holds a business degree and an MBA from the IMD Business School in Switzerland. He speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. He has more than 25 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, working across dairy, beverages, cereals, confectionary and baby food categories. Cesar has expertise in leading and growing household brands.
Speaking about the appointment, Conor Galvin, CEO of Ornua, says: “Cesar brings extensive global FMCG experience to Ornua. His appointment reflects the ambition we have for the Kerrygold brand and the critical role it will continue to play in creating value for the Irish dairy industry into the future.”
3 Cathal Garvey: appointed CEO of Manor Farm
Cathal Garvey.
Cathal is from Charleville in Cork and studied Business Studies in Cork I.T. and is a qualified Certified Public Accountant. He has spent all of his career up to now in various commercial finance roles – 15 years of those in Telecommunications with Virgin Media (in the UK) and eir. More recently he was chief financial officer of Hermitage Clinic in Dublin before joining Manor Farm in 2021 where he took up the position of chief financial officer.
Speaking about his new appointment Cathal says, “I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to lead Manor Farm – it carries a rich legacy and next year reaches the 250th year anniversary which is an incredible achievement. Poultry is a growing protein and I am looking forward to leading the business in this next exciting stage.”
4 Ann Meaney: appointed Chief Marketing and Consumer Experience Officer at Tirlán
Ann Meaney.
With over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry with companies like Diageo, C&C Group, and Aryzta, Ann brings experience in brand marketing, retail, foodservice, customer experience, digital transformation, and commercial strategy across both B2B and B2C sectors.
Speaking about her appointment, Ann says: “I look forward to overseeing the development and execution of Tirlán’s marketing strategy for our Agri-Business and Ingredients, Customer Service function, Commercial Digital Transformation, and Insights.”
5 Lorcan Allen: appointed Director of Business Development at Keating and Associates

Lorcan Allen has been the business editor of The Business Post for three years but prior to that, he spent eight years with the Irish Farmers Journal writing about the
agribusiness industry. Speaking about his new appointment at Keating and Associates, Lorcan says: “I’m looking forward to a new challenge outside of journalism and learning the skills to help grow and lead a business.”
6 Catherine Heffernan: appointed Technical and Consumer Success Manager at MSD Animal Health Ireland
Catherine Heffernan.
After graduating from UCD with a dairy business degree in 2014, Catherine started working with Dovea Genetics as a lab assistant. She then moved into Alltech before making the move across to Lely. In 2021, she joined MSD Animal Health Ireland before obtaining a management position this month.
Speaking about her new position, Catherine says: “In my new role, I look forward to leading technical projects, enhancing customer experiences, solving complex challenges, fostering team collaboration, and leveraging our expertise to take agricultural technology to the next level.”
