The international cheese awards take place at the largest cheese show in the world outside Manchester. Carbery beat off 5,000 entries from 27 different countries to win 17 awards including three gold medals in the vintage cheese, extra mature cheddar and light cheese categories.

These latest wins for Carbery add to an already impressive number of accolades and awards achieved at various international events in recent years. The winning of these awards underlines the company’s reputation as a producer of high quality cheeses.
Carbery’s cheese factory at Ballineen is one of the largest cheese-producing facilities in Ireland. The factory produces about 25% of Ireland’s annual cheese output. It manufactures the Dubliner Brand on behalf of Ornua.
Last year, turnover increased 10% to €349.5m at Carbery, driven by a 13% increase in volumes and stronger cheese prices compared to 2014. It was also the first year of the expanded cheese operation at Balineen where production reached a record 50,000T. More than €20m was invested to improve efficiency and add capacity at Balineen over the last 2 years.
