Watch: Seed and fertiliser machines on Amazone tillage road show
Amazone machinery, importer for Ireland for Farmhand, recently undertook a tillage road show which saw the latest Amazone products being demonstrated to potential customers across Ireland.
Seen for the first time in Ireland was the latest ADP Super Grain & Fert one-pass system, which is currently only available in a 3m working width. This new one-pass has a 2,000-litre split hopper, which is divided 60:40, allowing the operator to use it for both seed and fertiliser application in a single pass, eliminating the need for extra machines or work thus saving time and money. The hopper can also be used for seed, only adding to the machine's versatility. Moving back along the machine, the seed and fertiliser is placed where it is needed by the tried and tested Rotec Pro disc coulters, which can be lifted hydraulically. The metering of both the seed and fertiliser is controlled and monitored electronically in-cab via the Amatron 3 monitor with tram lining available for both seed and fertiliser. Retail prices are expected to be in the region of €64,500 plus VAT.
Cirrus 4003-2C
The 4m folding Cirrus 4003-2C was also on show at the demonstration. This is a trailed unit with much the same technology as the mounted ADP Super machine. The Cirrus can apply both seed and fertiliser in one pass and is fitted with Rotec Pro disc coulters also. The Cirrus rides along on matrix tyres and is fitted with 32 serrated discs for optimum cultivation as well as heavy duty crush boards. The Cirrus comes as standard with the Amatron 3 monitor and is ISO BUS-ready. For increased efficiency, the Cirrus is equipped with its own on-board hydraulics to power the blower for efficient seed and fertiliser distribution. Retail prices for the Cirrus are in the region of €100,000 plus VAT.
Cenius 4003-2TX
For heavy duty cultivation work, the Cenius 4003-2TX was on display. This 4m folding tine cultivator is fitted with 13 spring-loaded tine arms as well as rear levelling discs and a wedge ring roller. A clever feature on the Cenius is the traction control system which uses hydraulic cylinders to ether apply or remove weight from the rear wheels of the tractor to help traction and improve efficiency. Prices for this machine start at €60,000 plus VAT.
To complete the machinery line-up on show was the Catros 3001 3m disc harrow (photo above),which was fitted with an APV broadcast spreader, an ideal system for grass reseeding. Also on show was the impressive ZG TS 8200 Profis Hydro trailed fertiliser spreader (photo below), which is completely hydraulically powered and ISO BUS compatible.
