At FTMTA’s Grass & Muck 2014, McHale will launch its new McHale Fusion 3 Plus combination baler-wrapper, with integrated film application replacing the net. This innovative west of Ireland firm will also launch its new Fusion Vario variable-chamber combination baler-wrapper, plus a new 5000-series fixed chamber-baler.
The C460 bale shredder will be shown along with the line of V640 and V660 variable chamber-balers and a complete range of round and square bale wrappers.
McHale Fusion 3 Plus delivers film-on-film technology
Traditionally, when silage or hayleage was made, twine or net wrap was applied to the bale to keep it together. Then plastic was applied to seal the bale, which allowed fermentation to take place.
Over the last number of years, McHale has been working on a system which applies plastic onto the bale in the bale chamber, thus eliminating the need to use net wrap or twine to keep the bale together as it passes from the baler to the bale wrapper.
The concept of putting plastic onto the bale in the bale chamber, and the subsequent wrapping of the bales, is starting to be referred to as film-on-film.
McHale Fusion Vario
The new McHale Fusion Vario is a fully integrated baler wrapper, which consists of a high-output variable chamber-baler with an integrated wrapping ring.
In dry crops, such as hay and straw, the McHale Fusion Vario has the ability to make bales from 0.6m up to 1.68m (2in up to 5.6in). In hayleage and silage, the McHale Fusion Vario can produce bales from 1.1m up to 1.45m (3.3in up to 4.8in).
