Arrabawn Co-op has confirmed that it will be importing fodder in the coming days. A spokesperson for the Tipperary-based co-op told the Irish Farmers Journal that it has sourced seven lorry loads of silage/haylage bales (40 bales per load) in Somerset and Kent in the UK, which will arrive in Ireland “in the next few days”.

The spokesperson said that Arrabawn has sourced 15 lorry loads of bales in Munster from outside its area, as well as an additional 500 bales from within its area.

The spokesperson added that "two bales isn't much good to to someone milking 100 cows" but the co-op will try to accommodate farmers.
