Demand for well-fleshed Friesian cows continued on Monday in Bandon Mart and they sold for between €1.30/kg up to €1.40/kg.
Jersey cross cows that were available tended to be well-fleshed on the day and sold well making similar money per kilo as fleshed Friesians.
Parlour cows dominated the numbers with heavier types making up to €1.20/kg while cows with poorer body condition scores made from €0.80/kg up to €1.00/kg.

Bullocks
In the bullock sale, numbers have tapered off while trade has remained relatively stable with traditional beef breed crosses in demand.
Friesian bullocks were making between €1.54/kg and €1.75/kg.

There was increased appetite for Hereford and Angus crosses with spring 2016 bullocks making from €1.80/kg up to €2.00/kg.
