This December 2022-born in-calf Limousin heifer is due to calve to Powerful Proper on 1 February 2026 selling for €5,500

Drumshanbo mart held their last sale of 2025 last Friday night with just over 300 cattle moving through two rings on the night. Trade was brisk, with some big money paid for replacement suckler stock. Top call of the night went to a December 2022-born in-calf Limousin heifer due to calve to Powerful Proper on 1 February 2026 selling for €5,500. Dry cows were also one of the highlights on the night with a number of dry cows coming close to €4/kg.

Heifers also met a steady trade with top call in the heifer section going to a February 2024-born Charolais heifer weighing 600kg and selling for €2,670 (€4.45/kg). Weanling heifers were also a great trade with a number of heifer weanlings in the 300-400kg weight bracket hitting over €6/kg on the night.

This April 2025-born Charolais heifer weighed 344kg and sold for €2,220 (€6.45/kg)

This February 2021-born Charolais cow sold with her July 2025-born heifer calf selling for €3,700

This January 2023-born Simmental in-calf heifer is due to calve at the end of February to the pedigree Simmental bull selling for €3,550.

This April 2020-born Charolais cow weighing 830kg sold for €3,280 (€3.95/kg).

This April 2018-born Limousin dry cow weighed 860kg and sold for €3,400 (€3.95/kg).
