I see that there have been 10 applications for the role of chair of Bord Bia. The process to appoint a successor to Michael Carey, who has held the role since 2011, is ongoing.
Appointments are made at the Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed’s discretion so when exactly an announcement of the next Bord Bia chair will be made is unclear.
The position is for a three-year period and requires extensive knowledge and appreciation of the Irish agriculture, food, drink and horticulture industry.
