42-acre farm near Dysart
On 23 June, Padraic will auction a 42-acre residential holding situated at Lilliput Road, Dysart. Overlooking Lough Ennell, the property is in a picturesque, much sought-after area and is keenly guided in the region of €300,000. Lilliput comes with a two-storey farmhouse that hasn’t been lived in for a number of years. While featuring a good solid roof and PVC windows, the residence might benefit from some modernisation. It also comes with some farm buildings, including a two-bay hayshed. Set out in a single 42-acre block, the land extends down to Lough Ennell and has been let out for the past number of years. It is currently in grass but some patches might benefit from some attention.
Lovely 55-acre dairy package
Then on 30 June, an attractive 55-acre residential dairy farm at Archerstown, Delvin, goes under the hammer. Home to a dairy herd up until recently, the property comes to the market with an extensive range of farm buildings that include a slatted shed with 35 cubicle spaces, an eight-unit milking parlour with dairy and a calving shed. The 55 acres of land is set out in a single block, divided into a range of tidy paddocks that are fed with a piped water supply. These paddocks are accessed from a network of farm roadways and are reported to be without waste. Some of the land was reseeded recently.
The farm is complete with the inclusion of a nice four-bedroom dormer bungalow residence making it potentially a super package for any young enthusiastic dairy farmer. The property goes to auction on 30 June in the Greville Arms Hotel at 3pm and is guided in excess of €550,000.
30-acre field near Rochfortbridge
Finally, on 6 July, the locally renowned 30-acre Castle Field situated on the Dublin Rd, Rochfortbridge, will go to auction. Described as “excellent quality”, the land is set out in a single rectangular 30-acre field, currently sown to winter barley. A farm roadway along the boundary leads down to three modern stores that offer a combined capacity of circa 10,500 sq ft. These stores feature mass concrete walls, concrete floors and roller doors and are suitable for grain, machinery or even for stabling. Guided at €300,000, Castle Field goes to auction on 6 July at 3pm in the Greville Arms Hotel.
