Stronger calves more suitable to grass farmer buyers were very much in evidence among the pens. There also seemed to be a larger proportion of beef cross calves visible today.
Prices were similar to last week. Friesian bull calves sold from €50 to €120 for shipping type calves while stronger calves were picked up by farmers and these made up to €200. Friesian heifers were available from €159 to €280.
Prices for Hereford and Angus bull calves made from €200 to €370 and Hereford and Angus Heifer calves prices ranged from €180 to €340. Continental bull calf prices ranged from €310 to €480 while continental heifers sold from €280 up to €455.

Dry cows continue to come out with short of 100 on offer. These met strong demand yet prices were back slightly on last week. Cows made from €40 to €620 over the euro/kg. As ever heavy well fleshed cows and younger cows were much sought after.

Bullocks
Bullocks were either very forward stores near finishing or lighter stock fit to hit grass. Prices ranged depending on breed with upwards of 60 on offer.
Friesians made from €230 to €502 with their weight and Angus and Herefords and the handful of continentals made from €300 to €650.
