Callanan replaces the recently retired Dave Beehan who had served 40 years in the Department.
Callanan is a man well-known directly and indirectly to farmers as he was the man implemented Nitrates.

A well-liked and respected individual, Callanan has spent more than 20 years in the Department and is a council member of the Agricultural Science Association. Bill will move his desk from Portlaoise to Ag House in Dublin as part of the move.
