It is almost like the Dealer was in the room as it was happening but Bill Callanan has been appointed the new chief agriculture inspector with the Department of Agriculture.

Callanan replaces the recently retired Dave Beehan who had served 40 years in the Department.

Callanan is a man well-known directly and indirectly to farmers as he was the man implemented Nitrates.

A well-liked and respected individual, Callanan has spent more than 20 years in the Department and is a council member of the Agricultural Science Association. Bill will move his desk from Portlaoise to Ag House in Dublin as part of the move.
