Lower grain prices are filtering through to cattle rations, with prices back by £5/t on most beef rations; with dairy rations down by as much as £10/t, depending on protein content.

Intensive beef-finishing rations containing 40% maize are priced from £205/t to £212/t for bulk orders.

Prices for general-purpose beef rations are typically £220/t to £224/t for a 16% ration, with bulk orders as low as £215/t.

Dairy rations have also eased in price, with quotes this week ranging from £238/t to £246/t for feed at 19% to 20% protein.

Farmers mixing feed on-farm can purchase dried, rolled barley from £150/t and maize meal at £182/t.

Spot prices for soya have dipped below £290/t, but have since risen to £305/t and can be delivered on-farm for £315/t.
