Not content with owning large swathes of the Golden Vale in Co Tipperary, Coolmore magnate John Magnier is reported to have bought more than 4,000ac in Hampshire, England.
The Sutton Scotney Estate includes 3,990 acres of tillage and grassland, 142ac of woodland and 24 houses.
The estate is 60 miles from central London and is believed to have been sold for £45m (€52.7m) by a unit of Zurich Insurance Group.
The estate was described by selling agents Savills as being located in the “Golden Triangle” within the A34, A303 and M3 southwest of London.
