The Irish Farmers Journal understands that Kildare Chilling is gradually reopening after a large outbreak of COVID-19 among its workers.
The factory is understood to be conducting a small cattle kill on Thursday 20 August following the initial reports of the outbreak on 4 August.
It is also understood that the factory is not yet quoting for sheep.
Cases
There are understood to be more than 170 positive cases among workers at the plant and, at the start of the week, a number of workers were still waiting on test results.
The news of Kildare Chilling reopening comes on foot of news of eight further cases of COVID-19 at ABP Cahir.
On Monday, it was confirmed that one worker had tested positive and his close contacts in the factory went into self-isolation in line with HSE guidance.
The factory has now retained the services of a private company to test all workers in the plant with HSE input.
ABP Cahir employs up to 650 workers every year and processes up to 400 cattle every day.
