The king is back – Ben Portsmouth Is Elvis

25 April: The multitalented musician, singer-songwriter Ben Portsmouth is coming to the INEC Killarney as Elvis. Internationally renowned as one of the best Elvis tribute acts in the world. He looks like Elvis and sings like Elvis and has an on-stage charisma that has audiences believing that, at times, they are watching the King himself. The rise and rise of the Healy Raes

20 April: Written by Killarney-based storyteller and actor Ray O’Sullivan, The Rise and Rise of the Healy-Raes is the hilarious and sometimes poignant story of bachelor brothers Densey and PJ Doona who appear time-locked in a life of loneliness and celibacy in their small family farm in Kerry. Foreign women, love, elections and politics combine to change their lives, with the well-oiled Healy-Rae machine at the centre of the miraculous transformation. The show runs over six nights in six different locations during March and April, with the final night on 20 April in St John’s Theatre, Co Kerry. Many Young Men of Twenty

29 April: The Everyman Theatre Company is delighted to present the John B Keane play Many Young Men of Twenty at the Everyman Theatre from 20-29 April at 8.00pm. Though written in the 1960s, Keane’s play is just as relevant in today’s society. The issues of emigration, alcoholism, status of women and politics (jobs for the boys). A great cast have come together for this production, bringing new life to this superb play. This production runs from 20-29 April (excluding Sunday 23rd) at 8pm. Free Fire

21 April: Free Fire is an action thriller set in Boston in the 1970s. Interestingly, the entire film is set in a single location – a warehouse. Directed by Ben Wheatley who also brought us Kill List. This film is about an arms deal that is sent into anarchy by a personal quarrel. Cillian Murphy stars as the IRA “hardman” Chris (one of the dealers).
