Base quotes of €3.95/kg are emerging in the beef trade this week.

Flat deals for Angus cattle of between €4.10/kg and €4.20/kg have also been reported this week.

Heifers are in the main trading at €3.85/kg to €3.90/kg with bullocks 5c/kg less.

The British, NI and EU beef trade has improved in the last two weeks while Irish factories have been slow to increase quotes.

Last week’s kill stood at 30,823 excluding veal, down 3,641 head on the same week in 2020.
