A farm fire occurred on the farm of Charlie Dooher in Lifford Co Donegal late last Monday evening.
Approximately €400,000 worth of damage is alleged to have occurred at farm buildings on the Dooher farm. Of this figure, some €200,000 worth of damage is alleged to have been caused to farm machinery. There was also a loss of a first cut of silage.
The machinery that was burned was located between 300 yards and 400 yards from the dwelling house of the Dooher family.

The scene was cordoned off early Tuesday morning of last week as An Garda Síochána launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, the garda station in Castlefin confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal.
The Dooher family confirmed that the Gardaí are treating the cause of the fire as suspicious.
