Kimono is a beautiful boutique located in the centre of Newcastle West in a Victorian building built in 1879 and is run by Ailish Mullane.

“We cater for all tastes and occasions from an alternative mother of the bride and groom to a dressy event and the smart casual office wear too. We sell lots of jeans, as well as dresses,” Ailish tells us.

“Life has got more casual and people want to wear something again, they don’t see a point in putting all their money into one outfit. They want value for their money and longevity and this is where we come in. Buy once and buy well,” Ailish says.

Kimono has over 30 labels by Irish and international designers, including Roisin Linnane, Sphere One by Lucy Downes, Matilde Cano, Fabina Fillibe by Malene Birger, Tara Jarmon and Hoss.

Isobel Boutique

Isobel Boutique is located in Adare and offers a spectacular haven of everything a fashionista could desire. The boutique specialises in occasion wear and is the ideal location where you can find unique pieces for a special event.

Located on Maiden Street, Newcastle West, Virgo Boutique caters for ladies of all tastes and is the place to go if you are looking for a lovely summer dress, a dress for the races or something more casual for work.

Ela Maria

Ela Maria’s is based in The Square House in the centre of Newcastle West and occupies three floors, with over 80 labels to choose from. It is run by sisters Elaine Murrihy and Maria Field and is another go-to shop if you are looking for a mother of the bride or groom outfit, stocking Linea Raffaeli, Ian Stewart and Teresa Ripoll.

“For mothers of the bride and groom, it is a really big occasion for them and it can be quite daunting when you have a full floor of stock, but our staff are really helpful and trained to know what is what in fashion,” Elaine explains.

“We recommend that mothers try lots of styles, so many people have a set idea when they enter the shop and often go home with something entirely different,” she notes.

The shop has a range of accessories, bags and hats, so you can get your whole outfit under one roof.
