Machines on display include the Big X 770 and 580 foragers, rakes, tedders, mowers, forage wagons and balers, including the Comprima Xtreme range and BigPack large square baler. For the first time in Ireland, the 470 GL tri-axle wagon will be on display at the Farmhand stand.
Farmhand claims the new ZX looks set to have one of the largest intake capacities of any wagon ever produced. This is all down to the 400hp-rated drive line which incorporates a high-speed power band and unique speed reduction gearbox inside the chopping rotor which is all powered by a six-groove poly V belt and planetary gears. This driveline concept caters for the enormous horsepower that is available today from most leading manufacturers.
The variable speed hydraulic drive coupled to the 2.1m EasyFlow camless pickup allows the ZX achieve huge intake capacity while also being totally maintenance-free. A novel feature is that the operator can adjust the pickup speed to match crop condition easily from the tractor seat via the Delta terminal touch screen or optional CCI ISOBUS control panel inside the cab.
The front headboard pivots which increases load capacity by compressing the crop and also helps to empty the wagon faster during unloading.
The tandem and tri-axles are fitted with a hydraulic auto-levelling suspension system as standard to aid stability, while the revolutionary SpeedSharp blade sharpener system, which sharpens the blades automatically in a matter of minutes, is available as an optional extra as well as an on-board weighing system and hydraulic or electric steering.
Farmhand sales director David Borland commented: “This wagon is set to be revolutionary in the market. The performance of this machine is sure to impress people and get them talking. We have sold a good number of these silage wagons already and expect it to be a good seller next season once people get the opportunity to see it in operation.”
