Manitou will have machines from all aspects of their product ranges, including agriculture, construction and transport at this year’s National Ploughing Championships. They will also have experts on hand throughout the three days to answer any customer queries.

From its agricultural range, Manitou will have its popular MLT 629 on show. The MLT 629 benefits from a lifting capacity of 2,900kg, while the rear engine layout offers improved all-round operator visibility, as well as the large ergonomic cab which provides increased operator comfort during the working day.

The MLT 629 is a machine that is compact enough to allow it to work in the most confined area on a farm, with widths ranging from 2m to 2.16m.

Under the hood, the 629 is fitted with a Perkins stage 3B four-cylinder 3.4-litre turbo engine which is designed to reduce emissions and lower fuel consumption, which is all part of Manitou’s total cost of ownership reduction plan.

Inside the cab, the MLT 629 benefits from the user-friendly JSM (joystick, switch and move) controls which is fitted as standard on all MLT models. This allows the operator to control all movements with one hand, leaving the other hand free to maintain full control of the steering.

The MLT 629 is a powerful, high-performing machine which continues to lead the Manitou range as one of their best-selling telehandlers.

Also on display on the Manitou stand will be the TMM20, TMM25-4, the TMT25S and TMT25 from their range of truck-mounted handling solutions. Positioned at the rear of a lorry where they can be dismounted within minutes, these forklifts offer a quick and efficient method to load and unload all type of goods.

Usability on the TMT range is improved due to a patented side shift motion and large cab which allows the machine to unload a truck from one side with no extra equipment needed, saving considerable time. Up front, the telescopic boom provides increased visibility, particularly in loading and unloading.

During operation, the triple function FNR (Forward Neutral Reverse) joystick makes it easy to use the TMT. The FNR joystick controls boom movements (up, down, in and out) and the direction of travel (forwards and reverse). This allows both hands to be permanently in contact with the controls for greater safety, comfort and speed.

The TMT series has a maximum load capacity of 2,500kg and 2,700kg depending on the model and has specific design features incorporated to promote safe operation. These safety features include new stabilisers so that it can handle heavy loads, a cab with standardised ROPS-FOPS protection and a stability indicator.

The TMM range has been designed with a unique boom, allowing for one-side loading and offloading. This range also features a four-way (multi-directional) function which enables access to confined, narrow or wide loads. The TMM 20 has a lifting capacity of 2,000kg with a max lift height of 3,900mm, while the larger TMM 25 offers a lifting capacity of 2,500kg with a max lift height of 3,900mm.

Manitou’s construction range will be represented in the form of the MT 1335. The construction range includes compact (5.85m), Mid lift (7.75m to 12.55m) and High lift (13.52m to 17.55m). The MT 1335 sits at the top end of the mid range. These construction machines offer customers high-performance lifting and loading capability with standard design benefits for ease of use and maintenance including the patented JSM Joystick.

Representing the Manitou access platform range will be the articulated platform 200ATJ. As with all the Manitou access range, this machine is designed to operate outdoors and indoors, even on uneven or steeply sloping ground. The raising of the platform consists of four movements which can be done simultaneously, allowing the operator to reach the working area quickly and efficiently. The raising of the platform and the travel mode movement levers are located distinctly on the control panel. The two-man basket has a rated capacity of 230kg and benefits from a grid design floor improving visibility to ground level. Like all of the Manitou AWP (access working platform) range, the 200ATJ can also be operated by a control panel on the ground and has the Manitou Safe Man System fitted as standard. This safety system protects the operator and minimizes the risk of crushing by use of a sensitive bar fitted at the front of the control panel.
