The Iverk Show, now in its 191st year, is hoping to see its prize fund increase by 10% on 2016 to over €90,000.
Largely contributing to this is the return of the two Aldi, ABP, Irish Angus all-Ireland bull calf championship finals.
This competition carries a prize fund of €18,900, said to be one of the biggest in Europe.
Qualifying shows for the finals include Bandon, Clonakilty, Gorey, Charleville, Longford, Mullingar, Bonniconlon, Nenagh, Ballinamore, Tullamore, Cappamore, Roscommon, Mohill, Swinford and Iverk.
Breeders are advised that the dates for this year’s classes changed from August to November for the senior final and December to April for the junior final.
The Investec Wealth and Investment broodmare all-Ireland final will also see a return.
New for 2017 is the final of the All-Ireland Home Cook Champion 2017.
Chair Robert Dowley said: “It is a privilege for the Iverk Show to host such a prestigious final. It will complement our excellent Glanbia food village, which has grown over the years, and now forms one of the major attractions of the show.”
The competition will be run alongside a cooking demonstration by TV3 and RTE chef Adrian Martin and carries a prize fund of €2,300.
