Meath Partnership and FRS Training are delivering a free agricultural and construction training course starting on 24 February in the Duleek area.

The Ignite programme is for people aged between 18 and 25, living in rural Meath.

The 15-week programme will involve 10 weeks’ intensive and five weeks’ support into training or employment within the agricultural and construction industries.

This initiative is fully funded by the LEADER 2020 rural development programme, making it free for participants, including transport costs to and from training venues.

Participants will receive certified training on:

  • Manual handling and workplace safety.
  • Tractor driving.
  • ATV/quad bike training.
  • Use of farm machinery.
  • Introduction to milking.
  • Fencing skills.
  • Farm business management and progression
  • Safe Pass.
