Six members of the part-time Green Cert class in Mellow Teagasc Campus Athenry, Co Galway, are running 5k wearing wellies while dressed up as Santa, to raise money for Pieta House this Sunday, 13 December.
Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal,student Niall O'Shaughnessy said ,"the idea came about as part of a teamwork module and the group decided that Pieta House would be a great charity to raise money for as they felt it was a service which helped many people throughout the Pandemic."
The 5k Santa Run will take place in Ballinasloe on Sunday 13 December, the team hope to raise funds on the day alongside their sponsorship cards and GoFundMe Page which can be found at ‘5k Santa Run in aid of Pieta House’.
