The ICBF has no intention of increasing the fees for Beef HerdPlus customers, a spokesperson for the organisation has told the Irish Farmers Journal.
Last week, the ICBF notified farmers that the Dairy HerdPlus annual fee would be increased from €60 to €100 in 2019, with an additional €0.50/cow charge to be introduced from 7 February this year. There are over 23,000 herds registered for the herd management system, with dairy farmers making up two-thirds of the members. “The HerdPlus fee increase is specifically to fund printing, packing, software development and customer support for all our dairy HerdPlus members,” ICBF said.
