Identigen, the company behind the development of the DNA testing and tracing system, has sold a portion of its business to MML Capital Partners Ireland (MML) – an Enterprise Ireland-backed fund. MML has invested up to €12m in Identigen to give it control in partnership with its management. Identigen, which was headed up by Ciaran Meghen and Ronan Loftus, currently employs about 60 staff. Yeoman Capital is believed to have owned 28% while Roger McCarrick, the former owner of Rangeland Meats, owned 17%. Trinity genetics professor Patrick Cunningham was the original founder and developer of the technology.
