To raise money for suicide and harm prevention platform Pieta House, influencer Lisa McGowan is throwing an online Zoom pyjama party on 3 December.
Ahead of the pyjama party, Lisa McGowan has already raised €91,000 for Pieta House. Building on that, she hopes to raise more on the video call, that takes place from 8pm to 9.30pm.
Pieta House estimates that it costs €1,000 to treat each of its patients and the need for mental health platforms is definitely there.
Adverse health outcomes
Irish male farmers experience some of the highest levels of adverse health outcomes relative to other occupations – particularly in relation to heart disease, cancers and mental health.
This was shown in a recent study 'That’s Me I am the Farmer of the Land: Exploring Identities, Masculinities, and Health Among Male Farmers’ in Ireland’, which was conducted by a collaborative group from Teagasc, the National Centre for Men’s Health (NCMH) at Institute of Technology, Carlow, and the Centre for Health Behaviour Research in Waterford Institute of Technology.
Programme overview
The night promises to be very interactive. Participants will be able to shake up some cocktails with Roberto Garcia from Disserano and get a make-up tutorial from Aimee Conolly.
The music side is covered, with Matthew Gilsenan from the Celtic Tenors opening and closing the night.
Tickets cost €10 and can be bought online or on Lisa’s Instagram page @lisas_lust_list. All proceeds go to Pieta House.
