Until recently, farmers and contractors operating a mixed fleet of machinery could only record, process and document their data using the individual manufacturer’s equipment and web portals.

However, John Deere, 365FarmNet and Claas have teamed up to create DataConnect. For the first time, this trio have created a manufacturer independent cloud-to-cloud solution. Similar to ISOBUS, users can now exchange data through a common interface, as well as control and monitor their machinery fleet using their preferred system.

DataConnect allows users to choose their preferred data platform from a specific manufacturer. Users can transmit data from other machines through the new interface. This means that the data is still available in the John Deere Operations Centre, Claas Telematics or 365FarmNet portals, but can be exchanged in real time from one cloud to the other. All necessary machine configurations are available in one system.

DataConnect allows the exchange of all important machinery data, including current and historical machine location, fuel tank level, working status and forward speed. Transmission of agronomic data is being planned.

An inside look at the operation of DataConnect will be available on the Claas, 365FarmNet and John Deere stands at Agritechnica in November. The official launch is scheduled for summer 2020.
