Lakeland Dairies is the first milk processor in NI to set a price for October supplies, holding on a base of 24.5p/l.

It is the third month in a row that NI’s largest milk processor has paid 24.5p/l as a base.

While other processors pay a winter bonus for October, the 3p/l Lakeland winter bonus is on November and December milk.

Strathroy also set its October milk price midweek and has followed suit with no change to its base price, keeping it on 24.5p/l, although this effectively becomes 25.5p/l once the 1p/l winter bonus is included.

Glanbia Milk is also expected to hold its price after deciding to leave the Republic of Ireland price unchanged.

Dale Farm meets on Thursday, with the co-op paying a 2p/l winter bonus on all milk from October to December. Glanbia Cheese pays a similar bonus to suppliers.
