Described as a “gorgeous field”, a 28-acre non-residential parcel of land has just arrived on the market at Aghamarta, Carrigaline, Co Cork.

Less than four miles from Carrigaline, the property is situated on the Fountainstown/Carrigaline road and comes with fabulous views that extend out towards Cork Harbour.

Reported to be “a dream spot for a house”, the property comes with good road frontage, making it conducive to the construction of a house subject to the appropriate planning permission. Currently in tillage, the field is brand new to the market through auctioneer Christy Buckley, Ballinhassig, and is expected to generate both farming and non-farming interest. A guide of €14,000/acre (€392,000) is quoted.

123-acre dairy farm near Mallow

Meanwhile, the same agent has just announced that a 123-acre residential dairy farm situated at Scart, Ballyclough, Co Cork, will now go to auction. The property has been on the market for the past couple of years by private treaty and a decision has been made to offer it by auction on 30 May next in the Hibernia Hotel, Mallow, at 3pm.

Currently home to a milking herd of cows, the property comes with a 67,000-gallon milk quota, a three-bedroom bungalow residence and a modern milking parlour/cow accommodation layout.

The owner is presently milking over 100 cows on the farm and is willing to offer his entire holding for sale by private treaty as a going concern – including the cows and the machinery – on the build-up to the auction. If not previously sold, then the auction will proceed on 30 May as scheduled, but this will only extend to the land, residence and buildings.

Split by the road, 25 acres are situated directly across from the house and yard on 98 acres. The land is divided into paddocks that are accessed from an internal farm roadway and water is piped to all paddocks.

The farmyard features a modern 12-unit milking parlour with straw-bedded accommodation for up to 70 cows, all of which is under the one roof.

The residence is a three-bedroom bungalow which is in good order. It’s understood that at least four different parties have expressed interest to date. The land, house and farmyard is guided at €1.3 million or €10,500/acre. There are no entitlements.
