Most immediately, a third 7.5t/hour drier will be constructed, increasing the output capacity of Belview by over 50% within 12 months. Infant formula production for global export markets will ensue.
“Despite volatility in global markets there is growing demand and positive long-term prospects for our products,” said Glanbia chairman Henry Corbally.
“These investments are designed to ensure that Glanbia’s suppliers have the opportunity to access those markets”.
Minister Michael Creed, who performed the opening ceremony, described the day as “a signal of ambition”, with Glanbia being “trailblazers at home and abroad”.
