Anais Mitchell – 16 August: Anais Mitchell is a Vermont- and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who focuses on narrative folksong, poetry and balladry. Child Ballads, Young Man in America and Hadestown are just some of her works to date, with the latter having been turned into a musical in November 2018. It opened on Broadway in April 2019. Mitchell has also headlined shows in all corners of the globe, and opened tours with Bon Iver, Josh Ritter, Punch Brothers and Patty Griffin. She has also received a BBC Radio Two Folk Award and the Folk Alliance International Spirit of Folk Award. UglyDolls – 16 August: UglyDolls is a new animated musical adventure starring the voices of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monáe, Blake Shelton and Pitbull. Inspired by the global plush toy phenomenon that was launched in 2001, the film follows the free-spirited ugly dolls as they explore what it means to be different and discover that it is who you really are that is most important. UglyDolls hits Irish cinemas on the 16 August.

Adult Child/Dead Child – 16 August: This rare piece of theatre approaches the themes of mental health with hope and warmth. It is a monologue play that follows the story of a young person as they grow aware of their imaginary friend, all while struggling to deal with a strained home life, a new town and new people as well as an incident at school. This child protagonist goes on to become a child psychologist in a journey that is both harrowing and hilarious. Unhinged Comedy Club – 18 August: The Ha’penny Bridge Inn, Dublin, is hosting yet another night of stand-up comedy. Connor McDonagh-Flynn is set to return with a night of giggles as he takes to the stage. His comedy is bizarre, bold and unbalanced and is guaranteed to have the audience in stitches at the bemusing way in which he deals with topics that present themselves daily. Tinder – A Musical Comedy – 20-24 August: The uplifting Tinder – A Musical Comedy comes to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre from the 20-24 August. The show tells the tale of three best friends, who know how to enjoy themselves when they get together. Watch the girls deal with their love life drama and family as they navigate their Tinder life. The production features great music along with a clever multimedia backdrop. This comedic musical stars Aisling Breen, Eimear Morrissey and Rachel O’Connell and guarantees to take Dublin by storm.
