Central to the Claas stand this year will be its Digital Solutions arena, where the new Claas connect platform will be on show to Irish customers for the first time.
Visitors can also experience the Cemis 1200 steering system first-hand, with two working simulators. Launched on 1 October, Claas Connect brings together machine management, service planning and licence management with yield mapping, application maps and documentation on a single, cloud-based platform.
The manufacturer says that the ‘Next Step in Farming’ focuses on even greater connectivity and user-friendliness and a closer relationship between customer, dealer, manufacturer and partners, based on more effective communication.
The platform is a management tool based on data. It says this opens a doorway for the move towards autonomy and remote machine monitoring.
Since late last year, a five-year machine connect license was fitted as standard on all Arion, Axion Xerion tractors, Jaguar forage harvesters and Trion and Lexion combines.
This opens the gateway for machine telematics, remote service via the digital service manager and Cemis online transfer of files, such as field maps and fertiliser application maps. Claas says that telematics isn’t new, but this is the next step to evolving it. Anyone who is using the current Claas telematics system will be transferred over to the new system.
The platform is divided into two main elements. On one side you have machine connect and on the other you have fleet connect.
Machine connect features all machine related data, while farm connect encompasses all field data, such as yield maps and prescription maps, etc. Claas said its goal is to gradually combine all digital solutions in a single, cloud-based platform, with an emphasis on ease of use.
New kit
Claas will be showcasing the popular Cmatic stepless CVT transmission, with flagship models from the Arion and Axion range. Core greenline products, such as the Disco mower range and Liner rakes, will also be on display, along with a keen emphasis on material-handling, with the Scorpion telehandlers, FL front loaders, and Torion wheel loaders. The German firm is also set to showcase a new Trion 660 combine.
The FTMTA show takes place on 12th, 13th & 14th of November 2024 date in Punchestown from 10am to 6pm daily, with the show opened to 8pm on Wednesday.
