The German built Nexat gantry has set a new world record, harvesting 637.6t of soybeans from 158.16ha in an eight-hour period.

The record took place in Fazenda Bananal in Bahia state, Brazil, surpassing the previous record by 150t. The gantry tool carrier was equipped with a Nexco combine module and 15.2m FD250 MacDon FlexDraper header.

The crop had an average moisture of 14%, allowing a forward speed of 13.6km/h and a throughput of 79.72t/hr. Fuel consumption was 7.5l/ha and losses were <0.5%.

According to Nexat, the capacity achieved is 32% higher than the previous record set in 2017 on the same farm which is owned by the Agro Basso Group. The record then was set by New Holland CR8.90, harvesting 439.73t in eight hours.

The huge capacity of the Nexat Nexco module is down to the transversely mounted rotor which feeds two separation and cleaning units. Two straw distributors spread the crop residue over the 15m working width.
