A man has been charged with the murder of farmer Anthony O’Mahony, 74, at Rattoo, Ballyduff, Co Kerry, on Tuesday.

Michael Ferris of Rattoo, Ballyduff, appeared before Tralee District Court on Wednesday morning, where he was charged and remanded in custody to appear again before the district court on 12 April. Gardaí in Listowel, Co Kerry, are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr O’Mahony, following a collision involving a car and a teleporter.

Bird banger

It has been reported that the incident may have followed a row about the use of a bird banger on a farm.

The incident occurred in Rattoo, Ballyduff, Co Kerry, on Tuesday 4 April.
