Eight fire appliances with 48 firefighters were fighting a gorse fire on land near Craig’s Forest, Finvoy, Ballymoney, Co Antrim, on Wednesday evening.
A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said that at approximately 3.20pm on Wednesday afternoon, the NIFRS regional control centre received a call to a report of a gorse fire on land near Craig’s Forest.
“A total of eight fire appliances with 48 firefighters are currently engaged in firefighting operations,” the spokesperson said.
The incident had an estimated fire front of approximately 1km and crews were working to bring it under control into Wednesday evening.
