Shown in Table B are the prices paid to 1m litre producers across high, average and low solids milk as detailed in Table 1 on the opposite page.

When compared to October, the average price paid across each milk quality is up as all processors pay bonuses for winter milk in November.

For high solids milk, prices across the board averaged 48.81p/l, up from 47.90p/l in the previous month.

Tirlán remains out in front on 50.41p/l and is the only processor paying above 50p/l at the outlined milk quality.

Lakeland Dairies moves up three places to second, due mainly to its 3p/l winter bonus kicking in from November. The co-op’s position is also helped by its enhanced payments for fat and protein, which start from a lower base than some of its competitors, as well as the 0.65p/l loyalty bonus.

Dale Farm slips to third with Aurivo unchanged in fourth. Leprino Foods slips two places to fifth with Strathroy completing the table.

Average solids

For milk produced at average solids, Tirlán keeps hold of first place for the third month in a row on 48.96p/l.

Lakeland is again the biggest mover in terms of positional changes, jumping three places to second. Leprino Foods is in third and ahead of others mainly thanks to its 0.65p/l volume bonus and 0.4p/l mozzarella premium.

Aurivo and Dale Farm are tied in fourth place with Strathroy’s position at the bottom of the table unchanged.

Rolling 12 months

In November 2023, milk prices were around 36p/l, so with this price now dropping off our rolling 12-month average, it means this rolling average price is up by nearly 1p/l when compared to the previous monthly league.

For high solids milk, Tirlán leads with a rolling 12-month average of 42.83p/l and extends the gap to second placed Dale Farm to just over 2p/l.

Lakeland overtakes both Aurivo and Leprino Foods and moves up to third, mainly due to its 0.65p/l loyalty bonus, paid on all litres supplied in 2024.

All six league positions are the same for average solids milk, while on low solids, the main change from last month sees Lakeland move from bottom, up to fourth and ahead of Aurivo and Leprino Foods.
