Overall champion Clewbay Neil sold for €3,600. \ Alfie Shaw
The champion of the show, Clewbay Neil, was next in the prices. Bred and exhibited by Padraic and Ciaran Golden from Westport, Co Mayo, the pre-sale champion is a son of the well-proven bull Ampertaine Foreman. Carrying five stars on both terminal and replacement indices, he was knocked down at €3,600.
Standing reserve to the Golden duo was Rutland Nestor from fellow Mayo exhibitor Noel Ruttledge. Nestor is a son of the Queenshead Altea and goes back to a Mullary Intrepid-bred dam. Carrying four stars on the terminal index with a calving ease figure of only 3.3%, he was sold at €3,000.
The second prizewinning Shannon Nemo also broke the €3,000 mark when he was knocked down at €3,100. Bred by Sarah McElligott, Listowel, Co Kerry, Nemo is sired by Damona with Ampertaine Commander also in the back pedigree.
