On Saturday 4 April, the Midland and Western Livestock Improvement Society will stage its April show and sale of Angus, Shorthorn and Hereford bulls and heifers at its showgrounds in Carrick-on-Shannon.

With almost 120 bulls and 21 heifers catalogued, it is undoubtedly one of the largest pedigree cattle sales in Ireland this year.

Making up the majority of the entries is the Angus breed, with 104 bulls entered.

As an added incentive for buyers, the society will provide haulage to central points throughout the country.
