I’m told the Connacht/Ulster Aberdeen Angus Society has been established in recent weeks, with Sligo man Jude Benson fronting it.
There were two existing Angus societies, who have not always seen eye to eye. The Irish Angus Cattle Society and the Irish Aberdeen Angus Society were the two players in town, but there has been a divide between the two dating back to the introduction of the Canadian Angus genetics.
Benson appeared on RTÉ TV show Dragon’s Den looking for funding for an AI importation company.

One of the members of the new society said it has been established to try to bring members from the two other groups together. Hopefully it does the trick.
