Legal eagles have been guaranteed a pay cheque into next year by the Barne Estate saga. Judge Denis McDonald has set 4 March 2025 for a two-week hearing of the case between the Magnier family of Coolmore and the family and trust of Barne Estate.

The Magniers claim they bought the 751ac Tipperary estate in a €15m deal last summer, while the Barne side claim the deal was not binding, counterclaiming for €22.25m in damages.
