A new chief veterinary officer has been appointed at the Department of Agriculture. I see that June Fanning will be in the hot seat which is soon-to-be vacated by Martin Blake. Fanning had held the role of deputy chief vet prior to being elevated.
It’s not as if there isn’t a lot going on in the sector at present; between the row over vaccines and doses, the decades long TB saga and the current issues around blackleg there’s plenty to be working on.
